OUR HISTORY

It was 1954 when Mr. Giuseppe Ottaviani, in the small factory in Priverno, began with the help of his wife, to transform and produce artichokes in oil and go to Rome every day with the aim of selling them in small quality shops.

Over the years that factory grew more and more, taking Ottaviani from a small artisan workshop to a reference reality as a supplier of top-level companies.

In 1985 the Ottaviani family was already known as the largest and most expert producer of artichokes and with the second generation, in constant search for novelty and growth, they decided to approach the world of frozen food. They then began the transformation of the factory into a freezing factory, purchasing the latest generation machinery. Thus it was that Ottaviani's artichokes began to be present on the market in the form of the largest and most recognized Italian brands.

In 1995 there was the construction of the current plant in the industrial area of Mazzocchio, suitable to withstand the growing work of Ottaviani, with cutting-edge production systems and numerous spaces for cold storage.

1954

Giuseppe Ottaviani

Founder of the factory in Priverno. With the help of his wife and some neighbors they transform and produce artichokes in oil for daily sale in some quality shops in the center of Rome.

1975

Organic Growth

of the Historic Factory of Priverno. Becoming point of reference in Italy in production of the artichoke.

1985

The second generation enters

Aware of the commercial strength, they initiate the model of industrial freezing and large-scale distribution, bringing their product to all Italian tables.

1995

New production factory

The current production plant was born, moving 10 km, from Priverno (Lt) to the Pontinia (Lt) Industrial Area, dedicating over 7000 square meters of equipment to the avant-garde.

1997

Created the L'ORTOFREDDO brand

dedicated to the Ho.Re.Ca.

2000

The CASA OTTAVIANI brand is born

conceived and studied in detail for large-scale distribution.

2002

We still grow

To ensure the distribution of requests, the plant grows in size reaching 11,000 square meters covered in a fully productive area.

2009

Enter the Third Generation

organic growth continues by producing for many supermarket chains, with the annual production of over 1500 tons of frozen product.

2015

Product range expansion

like precooked asparagus and legumes.

2018

The range of products grows

Introduction of new products such as broccoli, cauliflower and turnip greens.
